If you have followed my blog (or Instagram for that matter) for a while now, you may remember that I have suffered with my skin for quite a while. Back in September 2015, I wrote a post about a facial brush I was trying to help keep on top of my blemish ridden skin. Then, only months later in January 2016, I posted this image on Instagram showing an allergic reaction to something a GP had given me for said blemishes. As I'm sure you can imagine, it hasn't been an easy ride, but today I thought I'd share a few tips that have helped me over the years and hope this post will be become a place for people to share their tips, in the comments, too!
Drink more water
As cliché as it sounds, drinking more water really does help your skin. Drinking water helps flush out the toxins in your body as well as keeping your skin hydrated and plump. Not only is it great for complexion but it can help keep wrinkles to a minimum, too!
Wear less makeup
Now I'm not saying that makeup it the root of all spot/acne problems. Spots can be caused by hormones, diet, cleanliness etc. What I have noticed over the years, however, is that giving my skin more makeup free days has kept spots to a minimum as it has been fresh and clean, letting it breathe and repair.
Keep things clean
Keeping on the topic of all things clean, keeping bacteria down is a must! Make sure you're cleansing your face, hands, phone and make up brushes regularly to help minimise oils! Every time you touch your face with your dirty hands/phone you are spreading bacteria which will certainly increase the likelihood of spots developing.
You have options
Know that there are always other options and things for you to try. Bad skin can have such a negative effect on confidence but there are always other options. Medication wise there are hundreds of items to try as a final resort - for example you can try using Zineryt. Just note to always seek medical advice first!
